Can a write-protected PDF that cannot be copy and pasted (thus preventing people from stealing your content) be indexed/crawled by Google? I’m not talking about a pdf with images of text on it, just plain text that cannot be copied and pasted.

The most straightforward thing to do would not be to copy and paste it, but to download it. (pull down “save” from the File menu). Or print it to a pdf. I don’t know the details, but I know it’s possible to put a pdf document up with some sort of copy protection, so you can’t select anything in it and can’t normally download it. There’s a site I like that has a lot of good articles and t’re protected like this, but I found a workaround. I was able to download the articles using Safari (on a Mac, natch). Can’t remember offhand how I did it; I think it was probably just by printing to a pdf—but for some reason Safari could do it and other browsers couldn’t. I can select and copy from the resulting pdf.

PDF documents can be cumbersome to edit, especially when you need to change the text or sign a form. However, working with PDFs is made beyond-easy and highly productive with the right tool.

How to Write On PDF with minimal effort on your side:

Write on PDF: All You Need to Know

I didn’t find instructions or examples for making these in any of the books I was able to check out. It would certainly be better if you didn't need to select from the PDF, or if you only needed to copy the article's URL or URL of its parent articles (so no need for any additional actions). That said, I think it would be really handy if you could access any of the articles you have saved locally on your computer and select to copy them to an Evernote account. That way, if you’re on a computer with a password-protected account, or a web-accessible account, or an online account even, you can copy content from that to your home account. This would certainly be a great benefit if you want to be able to access and delete any or all of the articles from a particular article site without.
